Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
8 September 2022 will long be remembered as the day that Great Britain and Northern Ireland lost its longest-serving monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who died at Balmoral aged 96.
Her 70-year reign was characterised by her devotion to duty and service and the enormous social change that she witnessed.
She touched the hearts of millions of people throughout her lifetime, and we have borne witness to undeniably extraordinary scenes in recent days as people from these shores and beyond sought to pay their respects.
In the words of King Charles III, her loss will be “deeply felt” around the world.
